I like to make things with my hands.

Pumpkins

Another thing I stole from my Dad that I got a bit carried away with. Pictured above are Daniel Day Lewis (Daniel Plainview) The Mad Hatter, Jack Sparrow, The Joker, Sweeney Todd, Neil Patrick Harris, Charlie Chaplin, and Bill Murray. If you can't tell who's who, I'm sorry I said anything...

Desk

I refinished this desk that I bought for next to nothing from this very strange man in Brooklyn. It is very large and I will probably not be able to keep it if I move somewhere else in the coming years. That is why I plan to sell it on Etsy for a large sum of money. If you would like to purchase it before I put it up for sale (an indeterminate amount of time) please let me know and we can work something out.

This was when I first got it. Gross.

It is now 1 of a kind as I decoupaged it with cut outs from the 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins, the greatest of all the Dr. Seuss canon.

My Dad would build them. I would help.

Sandcastles

My dad has had a lot of different jobs over the past few years. Unlike me though, his have all been "real." He's gone from radio host, to anchor, to writer,  to producer, to teacher, to financial analyst, to PR guy (I think. I don't really understand what my Dad does- I guess thats why he can charge so much). So to make it easier for me, when people ask what my Dad does, I just tell with with a smile

 "He builds sandcastles."

My Dad left hearts in the castles- sometimes prominent, sometimes hidden. It was something of a signature. He's an adorable man. Most of my friends enjoy his company more than mine. I do not blame them.

Police Shelf

The shelf above is made from a NYPD DO NOT CROSS barricade that my roommates and I stole from down the block. It now houses our compendium of knowledge.

It is 14 feet long so getting it in our house was difficult. We are still fairly skeptical that it one day may come crashing down and kill us all.

Tommy Set

My friends and I built this set for our high school production of The Who's Tommy.

Juggling Shelf

I built this shelf from scratch and now it hangs above my bed. It comes equipped with clips for my clubs, a hook for juggling rings, 4 hat-rack poles, and a Rube-Goldberg ball-track made from an industrial spring, a curtain tassel, and a broken ukulele. I have no idea how many hours I spent making this.

I started so simple as the most difficult things tend to.
